A Special Message and an Invitation from Father Richardson and The Vestry

“I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks.”

– William Shakespeare

Eighteen years ago, Clara Godshall came to the Church of the Holy Communion as our Choir Director and Organist. She has been a leader, a teacher, story-teller, confidant, friend, and, lest we forget, a musician of the highest quality.  Her love for the music of the Anglo-Catholic Liturgy has fostered in each of our musicians a desire not to perform music merely for its own sake, but to “sing” the liturgy, to give it greater heights of expression for all those who gather here.

In her time here, Clara has led the music of our Liturgy in over 900 Solemn High Masses.  That number does not include years of Christmas Eve Services, Christmas Pageants, Holy Week services, Easter, All Saints’ and All Souls, numbers of joyous wedding celebrations and Requiem Masses.

On April 4, Easter Sunday, Clara will lead her final Solemn High Mass as Organist/Choir Director at the Church of the Holy Communion.

Directly after the 9:15 AM Easter service, we will have a “Drop-In Farewell” in the Garth to celebrate Clara’s time with us and to thank her for her ministry in leading us to “Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.”

We hope you will join us for a few moments before going on to your Easter Day activities. Our safe practices remain in place, but we will have light refreshments to carry you through to dinner-time or Brunch.

We would like to send Clara on her way with a generous “thanks, and ever thanks.”  If you wish to contribute you may send or bring your offering.

If your offering is in the form of a check, you may make it to: The Church of the Holy Communion for Clara Godshall.

If you use Realm, contribute under the “Miscellaneous” tab and send an e-mail to Chris Jennings:  cjennings1@mac.com. She will make sure your offering goes into the proper account for Clara’s Farewell. God’s Peace to All!
