Freedom At Dawn

Freedom At Dawn FREEDOM AT DAWN, by Leah Shanked and beautifully illustrated by Oboh Moses.

In 1862, seven-year-old Lizzy’s dreams of freedom may come true when her father, Robert Smalls, steals a Confederate ship to sail his family to freedom. In the most dire moment, she discovers the depth of her own courage.

On Sunday, February 8th, during the covered-dish luncheon, Leah Shanke, the author of the children’s book Freedom At Dawn, will be on hand to sign your copies of this book.

If you don’t have a copy already, it is available at Amazon, and other locations.

(This is her debut picture book. Leah is Patricia Henley’s sister.)
