Well, you win some and you lose some.
The event last Monday night was going swimmingly (pun intended). The Arts and Justice Committee (Co-Chaired by Minerva King and Kris Westerson) and our volunteers created a fantastic experience with our Justice Tour. The beautifully hand-painted signs and banners with candid messaging announced to Charleston that CAJM members have generated significant people power that led to important policy changes that continue to make people’s lives better. The decorated cars parading through the streets, filling the air with honks and shouts of hellos, carried a joyful message that when we work together, great things happen. As we traveled the same road, the same route, together, we hope you were reminded that we truly are connected and through the building of relationships, what impacts one of us, impacts all of us.
We had a great night planned. Luckily, most of what you were going to see was going to be projected on the big screen which means we have the video. It’s 45 minutes long and you’re going to want to watch every minute of it. We want to watch it together so we want to invite you to join us for a watch party on Zoom of our video and a brief caucus following the video this coming Monday night, August 31st at 6:00 PM.
In order to get you in your congregational caucus, we need you to register here. Once registered, we will send you the Zoom link. Let’s complete our night by watching our Celebration video together. You might even feel inspired to connect your computer to watch on your TV, lower the lights and pull out your glow sticks and sing along to This Little Light of Mine.
