A Message from the Sr. Warden:

The Vestry and Deacon Jerry met with the Canon to the Ordinary last Tuesday evening.  We discussed a few priests that might be a fit for us.  Canon Linder assured us that we are a top priority with the Bishop to get us a new rector.  With the current shortage of Priests, it is taking some churches more than two years to find a rector.  Cn. Linder and the Bishop respect and support our liturgy, have no intention of changing it, and have assured us that they are committed to finding us an Anglo-Catholic priest. There are a few priests that they are currently considering for us.

The process by which we will get a rector is as follows: the interested priest will submit their application.  Cn. Linder will interview the applicant.  If the applicant is a fit for CHC their name will be passed on to Bishop Ruth for consideration.  If she feels the candidate is a fit for us, she will present the priest to us for consideration.  Upon approval of the vestry, the Bishop would offer the candidate the position of Priest in Charge with hopes of becoming our next Rector.

I have been praying that we will have a Priest in Charge soon and after our meeting Tuesday night, I feel very hopeful and optimistic that this will happen.

I was pleased to inform Cn. Linder that our congregation is very supportive of its vestry and our Diocese.  I know the last few months have been unsettling and I truly appreciate your support.  We are focused on getting CHC a priest that will honor our Anglo-Catholic liturgy and neither the Diocese nor your vestry will settle for less.

If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Deacon Jerry or me.

God’s peace,

Sherry Royster, Sr. Warden
