Daughters of the King Project
The SC Assembly Daughters of the King has an annual project in which each chapter is requested to participate. Our assigned month is October 2022 & 2023, Church of the Holy Communion’s Chapter, St. Monnica’s will collect items for the Magdalene House of Charleston. The following items are on the NEEDS LIST as established by the administrators of Magdalene House of Charleston.
This project of collecting items for Magdalene House is for the month of October. We must deliver our donations by October 30.
WHAT IS MAGDALENE HOUSE?
Magdalene House of Charleston is a nonprofit recovery home for women facing addiction. We offer an opportunity to recover and learn life skills in a safe environment with encouragement, accountability, and structure. Our program consists of case management and individual treatment plans that align with the 12 steps of recovery. Many of our residents come from lives of destitution, abuse, incarceration, and human trafficking and are enjoying the first freedom they have known for years. It is our mission to help women rise up from darkness and Be the Light.
Suggested donations:
Small size (larger than travel-size) Shampoo and/or conditioner
makeup collections,
facial products,
moisturizers,
face makeup cleansers,
Cosmetic puffs (the round ones)
nail polish, any color
nail polish remover
cell phone mount for bicycles (some under $20.00 on Amazon)
gift cards for Uber and/or Lyft,
general gift cards, any amount.
Rain jackets or ponchos that do not interfere with pedaling. (As residents’ transportation are bicycles)
Please be generous and place items in the marked box located in the hallway by the Garth doors no later than October 25th.
