CHC YOUTH GROUP!!!
It is almost time for the youth group to start gathering again. The big news this year is that we are officially having a middle school youth group! 5th, 6th, & 7th graders will be meeting at 5:45 on Monday nights. They will have supper with the 8th-12th graders at 6:30 and then head home. The older group will arrive for our joint supper at 6:30 and finish up at 8:00. We are very excited that our group has grown enough to support the two age groups. We will be needing volunteers to provide supper for us, please contact Dorothy at dorothypholland@gmail.com to find out how to join the Monday Night Chef Club.
Our first meeting of the year will be our Annual Autobiographical Potluck Supper on Monday, September 13. Because we will all gather together for this, the time frame will be different for this week only. We will meet from 6:00-7:30. Some youth from St. Stephen’s Church may be joining us from time to time. This year’s theme is: “What I Ate This Summer” so think about what you enjoyed these last few months. If you spend time in Wisconsin, maybe you ate a lot of cheese? If you hung out at the beach all summer, maybe you ate a lot of sandwiches? If you went to summer camp, what was the very best meal they served? Did you visit your grandma and help her make jam/bake bread/can tomatoes? Did you just sleep late, play video games all day, and eat a lot of cereal? Is the very best part of summer a tomato sandwich? Did you travel somewhere and eat something you have never had before? Did you have THE BEST of something you ever had in your life? Did the national wing shortage force you to eat a lot of pizza? Did your garden overproduce zucchini and you need to get rid of some? Was it the siren song of the ice cream truck that managed to drag you out of the cool, dark house into the blazing sun each day?
SURELY there is some food that represents or reminds you of your summer. WHATEVER IT IS, bring that.
